Our Story

Amy & Ivy started the way most good things do in our family — around the kitchen table.

We're two sisters, born and raised in Melbourne. We grew up in a house where Saturday mornings meant trailing our mum through the boutiques of Chapel Street, watching her hold a dress up to the light before she'd even look at the price tag. "Fabric first," she'd say. "If it doesn't feel right, it will never look right." Neither of us knew it then, but that one sentence would end up shaping everything we do.

Life took us in different directions for a while. Amy spent years working in fashion retail, learning what women actually reach for again and again — not what's on the runway, but what gets worn on repeat. Ivy went the creative route, with an eye for colour, cut and the small details that make an outfit feel finished. But every phone call between us somehow ended in the same conversation: why is it so hard to find clothing that's elegant and comfortable, without paying designer prices for it?

So we stopped complaining and started building.

Amy & Ivy is our answer to that question — a boutique for women who want to feel put-together without trying too hard. Pieces you can wear to lunch, to work, to a Sunday walk along the Yarra, and still feel like yourself in. We spend our time searching for styles we'd genuinely wear ourselves, and we don't add anything to the store unless we both say yes.

What We Stand For

We believe getting dressed should be the easiest part of your day. That comfort and elegance aren't opposites. That style has no age limit and no dress size. And that you shouldn't need a special occasion to wear something that makes you feel good.
